We provide services including but not limited to:

All services are subject to availability and written acceptance of a quotation.
Quotes
Quotes are:
Valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
Based on the information provided at the time.
Subject to change if the scope of work changes.
Exclusive of unforeseen structural issues unless specifically included.
Acceptance of a quote constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Deposits
For custom work or booked projects, we may require a deposit before work commences.
Typical deposits may include:
20–40% for custom products
30–50% for renovation or fit-out projects
Deposits are generally non-refundable once materials have been ordered or work has commenced.
Payments
Unless otherwise agreed:
Deposits are payable before work begins.
Progress payments may apply for larger projects.
Final payment is due upon completion or prior to delivery.
Ownership of goods remains with us until full payment has been received.
Late payments may incur interest or debt recovery costs where permitted by law.
Custom Products
Custom-made products including bookstands, shelving, display units and event backdrops are manufactured specifically for each customer.
Because they are custom-made:
Minor variations in timber grain, colour and finish are normal.
Dimensions are manufactured within reasonable tolerances.
Orders cannot be cancelled after production has commenced unless agreed in writing.
Renovation and Building Works
Project timelines are estimates only. Delays may occur due to:
Weather
Material shortages
Supplier delays
Site access restrictions
Hidden structural issues
Variations requested by the client
We will communicate any significant delays as soon as reasonably practicable.
Variations
Any changes requested after acceptance of a quote may result in:
Additional costs
Extended completion times
Revised quotations
Variations must be agreed upon before the additional work proceeds.
Site Access
Clients agree to provide:
Safe and reasonable access to the site
Utilities where required
Removal of personal belongings where necessary
We reserve the right to suspend work if the site is unsafe.
Warranties
We warrant that our workmanship will be completed with reasonable care and skill.
Manufacturer warranties apply to products supplied by third parties where applicable.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights provided under the Australian Consumer Law.
Returns & Refunds
Custom-built products are generally not eligible for change-of-mind returns.
If a product arrives damaged or defective, please notify us within 7 days of delivery.
Where required under Australian Consumer Law, we will repair, replace or refund eligible goods as per our Returns and Refunds Policy which you can read here.
Delivery
Delivery dates are estimates only. Risk passes to the customer upon delivery or collection.
Customers should inspect products upon receipt and report any damage promptly.
Intellectual Property
All website content, designs, photographs, drawings and branding remain the property of The Bookish Builder unless otherwise agreed.
Custom designs remain our intellectual property unless specifically transferred in writing.
Photography
Unless otherwise agreed, we may photograph completed projects and custom products for use on our website, social media and marketing materials.
If a client requires confidentiality, this must be requested before work begins.
Website Use
You agree not to:
Use our website unlawfully.
Attempt to interfere with website security.
Copy or reproduce website content without permission
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from the use of our website, products or services.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be excluded under Australian law.

Any personal information collected is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy which you can read here.
Force Majeure
We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform obligations due to events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, industrial action, government restrictions or supplier failures.
